The Palaeogenetic laboratories in Mainz are specialized facilities for the analysis of highly degraded ancient DNA. In particular, ancient human DNA from archaeological skeletons is subject to contamination from living humans during the analysis process. Therefore a series of anti-contamination measurements are taken in our laboratories. Watch the film below.
